My next life

My next life

I want to live my next life backwards:
You start out dead and get that out of the way.
Then you wake up in a nursing home feeling better every day.
Then you get kicked out for being too healthy. Enjoy your retirement and collect your pension.
Then when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work 40 years until you're too young to work.
You get ready for High School : drink alcohol, party, and you're generally promiscuous.
Then you go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, and you have no responsibilities.
Then you become a baby, and then..........
You spend your last 9 months floating peacefully in luxury, in Spa-like conditions - central heating, room service on tap.

Begining to look a lot like Christmas

I got all the stuff for some christmas baking, going to start after the 20th. I can smell it now. The kid and I really like to bake the Holiday goodies, this year my little Grandson wants to help. We will see how long it will hold his interest. He is only 5 and loves video games, so I really don't think it will hold his interest long, but it sure would be fun with him too!
The above photo is a decoration that is put up in Barstow each year. Now mind you this is a little berg and the decoration is pretty cool for this town. I have been looking at some of the lights people are putting up in their yards, and it is really begining to look a lot like Christmas.
Our tree is up and some presents have been bought, still have some more to do. Cards have been sent, all that is left is the baking and some more buying. Not much more buying as we are not rich by no means!
Some of my favoite things for the season is the Christmas specials, the music, the family, the goodies. The family is the most important!

Oh the things

Thought one:
The things I would like write about, so many, but when you put your innermost thoughts down anyone can read them. Do you really want that? Or do we just write about what we want people to know about us, or how we wish they would think about us?

When I write things on this blog I try and be careful as to what I am putting down, however, I am sure I have written enough that someone that had a mind to, could find me and figure out what a lot of my habits are. Kinda of scary if you think about it.

Thought two:
Do you believe everything you read in other's blogs? Again, people maybe writing what they wish you to think of them. So what you are reading may be total fiction, their life as they wish it was. If you think about it, what you are reading maybe the works of a novice best selling author.

Thought three:
I still enjoy the find of a great blog. I do believe that I have found a few of them and you will notice them on my side bar. I believe these blogs to be honest and the true feeling of the authors. So treat yourselves and check them out.

It's rainning it's pouring

It has been raining all day and I love it. Dang we need this rain, but it sure is dark. A good day for some soup and corn bread. No school today, yip pee! So I get to stay home where is is warm and enjoy the rain. Going to watch some Christmas movies and listen to music! I went and did some Christmas shopping yesterday. Got the last idog in the town of Barstow. It had to be the deluxe one that taps it foot to the music. She will love it. Got some new clothes for her too! Next is going to be a jewelry box that I will fill with costume jewelry as she is not old enough for the real stuff, but I am! Hint Hint, if my sons read this.

The crowds have begun in the stores already, I remember as a child not seeing the Christmas decoration at the malls and on Whittier Blvd until this week or next. They have been up for about 3 weeks already. I hope I am not burnt out on Christmas by the 25th.

Christmas is coming

Yip pee a two week vacation!!!!!! Boy do I need it.

I am really getting into the Christmas mood this year. I love watching the Specials and hearing the music. It is time to open up that file I have entitled Christmas Music and start listening. Have you heard Celine Dion sing Ava Maria,,it gives me chills. Then there are the same old standards that I just love, like Felis Navidad by Jose Feliciano, or the Little Saint Nick by the Beach Boys, or John Lennon's So This is Christmas. I love them all.

So I am cutting this post short as I will be listening to the above.

extra work for Christmas

This year it is for the Barstow Wal Mart. Damn people do you have to bring back for return used underwear, nasty stained clothing, broken things with no receipt and swear you just bought it. Get nasty to the employee before they ever open their mouth. Feel you have the right to insult said employee as you know if they said anything back to you they could be fired. What has happened to you people? I understand that times are hard right now with money, but it is hard for all of us, that is why we work. A smile goes a long way in getting what you want. A smile is free and opens the door for a friendly attitude back at you.

Ok I am done ranting, but damn what happened to peace on earth good will to men? Tis the season.

Where is the entitlement?

What gives a person the right to treat someone else badly? Is it that they think so little of them self that they must try and rip someone up just to feel better about themselves? I have found that this is more times than not, just the case. What makes them feel that the person they are ripping up really gives a flying crap?

I was taught by my Mother to try and treat everyone the way you would like to be treated. However, when you are they only one to be using this life lesson, it makes it hard. What the hell has happened to people, and why weren't they taught the Golden Rule? Lazy parents is mostly what I see. Parents that have all the time in the world to make these children and no time to teach them, so in turn they are not really parents, are they? You don't have to inseminate or be inseminated to be a parent. A parent is the one who teaches you right from wrong, guides you, shows you how to be a worthwhile person. So you can be someone that adds something to society, not someone who just takes from society.

Damn people you are given such a gift when you are blessed with a child, a perfect human. You can never teach them to remain perfect but it is your job to keep them as perfect as you possibly can. This means getting off your ass and doing some work. Know where they are, know who their friends are. In other words, give a damn! If you can't do this, then don't have them. As the rest of us will end up supporting them for the rest of their life in one way or another. There is no crime in not having children and enjoying your own life. There is a crime committed when you have children and fail as a parent due to laziness. Sometimes a good parent can fail, but it was not from lack of trying. Sometimes a lazy person will produce a great kid, but that is pure luck, but for the most part this is not the case. In my opinion, this is what is wrong with society today.
The above rant has nothing to do with the child you see on top, he is mearly a beautiful child and my Grandson.

Something stolen from Angie

Here are the rules for this little game...List one fact, word or tidbit that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your first or middle name. You can theme it to your blog or make it general. Not as good as Angie's but here goes.

T Tomboy as I was called in those younger days. I guess that is why I chose to become a firefighter in my younger days. You could always find me in my youth up a tree or surfing with the boys.

E Emotional, very! It doesn't take a lot to make me cry, a sad movie or just look at me cross eyed.

R Ready to go anywhere or do anything. I was once told "if someone told you to go to hell, you would pack!"

R Reliable, always have been. Steady, on time, you can count on me.

Y Yap-per, I just love to talk, unfortunately I don't like to write, if only I loved to do both I could write a novel bigger than War and Peace. PS Y was hard to come up with.

Dreams

Have you ever had a dream that when you woke up you said "What the F was that about?" Dang I was in a place that I haven't been for years. What the heck? Nor would I ever want to be in that place again. The dream was so real that I had to think about it for a few after waking just to make sure it wasn't real. Blast.

I hadn't been thinking about it or has anything popped up that would remind me of that time. That was just strange. That was the 2nd time in the past few weeks that I have had this similar dream.

What the hell???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

It's Cold

Well, I have the day off and it is so darn cold, it just 64 degrees but the wind is blowing, not just blowing it is howling. Probably around 50 to 60 mph.

Not that I had anything to do, but it would have been nice to have a day just to sit out on the porch with nice weather. Or to work with my container garden. Just too cold. So I am watching movies and sitting with the afghan. Not to say that that is a bad thing, it is pretty nice too. You know what? Some Hot Cocoa would be nice right about now. If only I had a maid to go get me some but I am warm under this cover and don't want to get up.

Pizza and other things I am sick of

Resistance in futile, you will comply, prepare to be assimilated
Aha, pizza, can you get tired of it? Yes you can. I would love to afford Lobster, then I could try and get tired of it. I really don't think I could ever get tired of it, or anything Chocolate.. I am however tired of hearing about Brittney Spears. Who the crap cares?

Here is a list of things I am sick of

Work

Breaking News

Slimy People

My Grandson peeing on the toilet seat

No rain

A small oil leak under my car

My puter that gives me grief every chance it gets

1 bathroom and two females

finding more and more gray hairs in my brush

gas prices

market prices

just the price of everything in general

dumb people that think they are smart

rent

not living close enough to the ocean(that would take higher rent)

traffic

I will add more as I think of them!

Chemicals

Two New Additions Periodic Table of Elements
Element Name: WOMANSymbol: WOAtomic Weight: Don't even go there.Physical Properties: Generally round in form. Boils at nothing and may freeze at anytime. Melts when treated properly. Very bitter if mishandled.Chemical Properties: Very active. Highly unstable. Possesses strong affinity for gold, silver, platinum and precious stones. Volatile when left alone. Able to absorb great amounts of exotic food. Turns slightly green when placed next to a shinier specimen. Usage: Highly ornamental. Extremely good catalyst for dispersion of wealth. Probably the most powerful wealth-reducing agent known.Caution: Unstable and highly explosive in inexperienced hands.
Element Name: MANSymbol: XYAtomic Weight: 180+/- 50 lb.Physical Properties: Solid at room temperature but gets bent out of shape easily. Fairly dense and sometimes flaky. Difficult to find a pure sample. Due to rust, aging samples are unable to conduct electricity as easily as young samples. Chemical Properties: Attempts to bond with WO any chance it gets. Becomes explosive when mixed with KD (Element: Child) for prolonged periods of time.Usage: None proven. Possibly a good methane source. Some specimens are able to produce large quantities of methane on command. Caution: In the absence of WO, this element rapidly decomposes and begins to smell.

Hot

This picture was taken in Newberry Springs Ca. The cafe use to be called Newberry Springs Cafe. They made the movie Bagdad Cafe here and never changed the name of the cafe again...It was a cute movie with Jack Palance, alot of the locals were used in the movie including me, it was fun. Alot of hype in a very small town.

I think this is going to be a hot summer, it is already nasty outside. Now that it is summer I am down to just two jobs. I thought about giving up the High School VC job, but I need the money and the security of that job.

I am still working on having my own business though. So far I am enjoying some free time and some me time. We are going to take a trip to Newport Beach next week. It will be nice to see the ocean again.

a little poem

I wish I had the answers, I wish I had the cure.
To make this life easier, give strength enough as to endure.
I will say that I love you, I have from the moment that you began to live.
I will say that I love you, you have my heart and that's all I have to give.

Super Bowl

Well, what can I say about SuperBowl,,,I like the commercials! I like the food! I like the company!

Never got in to the sports scene much, just mostly music and my kids and their activities. I do however, get a kick out of how much some get into it. Not that I have a problem with them lovin their football. ie: screaming at the TV because just maybe a player, coach, or umpire might hear them thousands of miles away. Then there is betting a team might win, I do better at liking the color of the jerseys better, than those who have put a lot of time and though in about it.

I do enjoy:

Chicken wings

Chips and Dip

Soda

Potato Salad

Pizza

Fried Mushrooms

The sound of the Game while I am in the kitchen

The commercials

Friends

Family

Yes even the screaming at the TV

as this is what Super Bowl is to me!
PS I will be watching The Replacements with Keanu Reeves and checking out Slim's blog for the commercials

OK OK I know, I haven't blogged in awhile, well this dumb old computer took a dump and it has taken a bit to get it back and running.

It is nice to be back in Vegas, with some pitfalls

See that little white dot down there? That is me, yep me new again to Vegas. I went from sig-alerts and the PCH to Airliners in the sky and the 95, 215, and the 15. If you get directions while on the Strip and the person tells you to go down the strip, then west on DI, it simply means you will be turning left off Las Vegas Blvd onto Desert Inn Rd. If you are told we will be going through the spaghetti bowl, don't expect fast food Italian. When you hear, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. Don't believe it. NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox news takes care of that. There are about 1 billion fast food places here and about the same amount of Starbucks (Yummy) You can spend anywhere between $4.95 to $495.00 for a prime rib dinner. You can also go to Lake Mead, visit Hoover Dam and have lunch at the Dam Cafe. Then go to the Dam souvenir shop and spend some more damn money.

The best thing about Vegas is that most of my Grandchildren live here and that puts me within a moments drive from them.
American Idol starts next week, sure am looking forward to that, so is my class. We won't be doing anything with it until it get to the top 12. Don't want to teach them to be to critical.
